Churches are some of the most popular religious organizations in several parts of the world today. Regarded as corporate organizations, churches are expected to be registered with government and also adhere to state laws.
Most churches base their belief centrally on the Holy Trinity—God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. However, the life, ministry, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is seen as the major theme in Christianity. Teachings and messages from the Bible also extend to prophets like Elijah, Isaiah and Jeremiah who lived during Old Testament times. The writings and lives of New Testament apostles such as Peter, Paul, John, James and many others are also fundamental.
Over the years, churches and other Christian organizations try as much as possible to depict their tenets by their logo. Hence some church logos contain images of the cross or the crucifix. Other popular images are: the Bible, and also the white dove which represents the Holy Spirit. For a group such as the Roman Catholic Church, the figure of the Virgin Mary, the mother of Jesus is highly revered.
Over all, a well-crafted logo is quite germane to a church organization. In fact, it is not usually just an image, but a great propagator of the church’s creed.
