Your personal branding lives in every detail of your business life. Including your email signature. It can be an extremely useful tool. For example, if you add your logo and many contact options – such as telephone, address, Twitter and Facebook page – to your email signature, you may strengthen the professional contact. Just by making it easier to get in touch with you and your company people feel that they can trust you.
So we are going to help you add a logo to your signature at Gmail, Outlook and Yahoo. Let us show you how to enable these options and make your email look more professional.
Gmail
Let’s start with Google’s option: Gmail. To add a logo, or other images to your email signature in Gmail you need to:
1) Make sure the picture you want to add to your signature is available on a public web server. Or use a free image hosting service instead. Also pay attention to the image size. It should be around 640×60 pixels.
2) Click the Settings gear in your Gmail inbox’s toolbar and select Settings from the menu.
4) Go to the General tab and make sure the signature entry area is selected under Signature.
6) Compose the signature’s text and format as you wish using rich formatting of your signature settings.
7) Position the text cursor where you want the image to appear in your signature. Click Insert Image in the signature’s formatting toolbar. If you cannot see the Insert Image button in the toolbar, make sure Inserting Images is enabled.
9) Enter the desired image under image URL and click OK.
If you are not sure how to do it still, here you can watch a nice and quick YouTube tutorial that shows how to add an image and how to format your email signature.
Microsoft Outlook
Believe it or not, Outlook is the easiest one for adding a logo to your email signature. It’s slightly unbelievable only because Microsoft is losing market share to Google in the business email world.
However, that doesn’t change the fact that it’s great for adding logos. You just need to follow 5 steps:
1) On the homepage of your inbox, navigate to the upper-right hand corner to the cog icon and click Options.
2) On the left side of the Options screen, you’ll see a laundry list of options. Scroll to the Layout category where you’ll click on Email Signature.
3) You’ll be sent to a page, where you can edit your email signature. The page gives you two options. Check the box next to: automatically include your signature on new messages you compose.
4) Once the box is checked, click on the box below to enter your signature field, from there, click the image icon in the left corner of the box to add your logo. Find your file on your computer and click open.
5) Navigate to the save button above the field, next to discard, and click the save icon. You officially have a beautiful logo in your email signature!
Even though it’s easy, a video can always be helpful. So I selected this YouTube tutorial for you.
Yahoo!
Last but not least comes Yahoo!. To add an image you must open the image you want to insert in Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
1) The image must be on a web server (its address must start with “http://”). You cannot use an image that resides only on your hard disk.
2) If you don’t have a website, you can use a free image hosting service instead.
3) If your image is larger than some 100×100 pixels, consider shrinking it to more handy proportions before you put it online.
4) To open an image that appears as part of a web page:
In Internet Explorer:
5) Click on the image with the right mouse button.
6) Select Properties from the menu.
7) Highlight the entire string under Address/URL.
8) Press Ctrl+C and click OK.
10) Highlight the address bar.
11) Click Ctrl+V and press Enter.
In Mozilla Firefox:
5) Click on the image with the right mouse button.
6) Select View Image (or View Background Image) on the menu.
7) Press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C.
9) Open Yahoo! Mail and select Options | Mail Options from the top right navigation area.
11) Go to the Signature category and follow the Rich Text link, if available.
13) Position the cursor where you want to insert your image and press Ctrl+V.
15) If you use an image uploaded to a free image hosting service, click on the image. Link the image to the image’s page address at the free image hosting service and click Save Changes.
Complicated? Yes, Yahoo can be a bit confusing. But we are well prepared to give you support with this video tutorial.
The main point here is to get more professional, to integrate your brand on every visual contact you have with customers and partners. It tells people you are serious and really engaged to your business. This may seem a little too simple, but it makes a difference indeed.
